The Rev. Joseph A. Gibbes joined our clergy staff in July, and will become our new Canon for Christian Education. Canon Craig Smalley will assume the duties of Canon Missioner and Advent Episcopal School Chaplain, and Canon Heidi Kinner will become Vice Dean upon John Harper's retirement in August.
Joe has most recently been serving as Associate Rector of St. John's Parish, Johns Island, SC. A native of Columbia, SC, Joe graduated from Wake Forest University and received his Master of Divinity at Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, PA. He and his wife Amy have two children and “one on the way” (due September).
